Ahead of our AGM which will be held on 26th March 2024, we’ve published a series of documents to help keep our members informed about our activities.
These are summarised below:
- Throughout the year, ECNF submitted detailed objections and hosted events to discuss concerns about the Masterplan for site H66.
- ECNF made detailed submissions against several housing developments on site H66, including proposals by Taylor Wimpey, Land at Alderwood, and Northstone Development.
- We identified and corrected missing resident submissions on the Council’s website regarding the Masterplan and Taylor Wimpey Planning Application.
- ECNF Management Committee and Rossendale Council meetings took place throughout the year, with minutes available on ECNF’s website.
- Meetings with local MPs, councillors, and developers to discuss planning issues and proposals.
- Distributed to all Edenfield residences in June, October, November 2023 and March 2024. These newsletters included information on how to engage with planning consultations.
- We have made progress on Edenfield’s Neighbourhood Plan, which aims to ensure new housing developments are in keeping with the village’s character and history. After a consultation period and revisions, the draft Plan was submitted to Rossendale Council in February 2024, with public consultation expected to begin in May.
ECNF remains actively involved in advocating for Edenfield’s community interests, engaging in consultations, planning discussions, and ensuring resident voices are heard in local development plans.
