Here’s the latest news on planning matters affecting our village:
- Community Centre Referendum
The referendum on the Edenfield Neighbourhood Plan which is organised by the Council is likely to be on 20th February. Information on the Plan and the referendum and confirmation of the date will be confirmed by the Council in the next couple of weeks.
- National Planning Policy Framework (NPPF) Update
The government has published its responses to the recent consultation on proposed changes to the National Planning Policy Framework (NPPF). If you’re looking for something to read whilst you’re staying out of the cold, you can find the full 139-page document here.
Key highlights include updates in section 4 on the “standard method for assessing housing need.” According to the Rossendale Free Press on 20th December, Rossendale is set to see an increase of 142 homes per year beyond the original Local Plan requirements. Let’s hope this doesn’t add further pressure on Edenfield, but time will tell.
- Scout Moor Wind Farm Consultation
The scoping report for the proposed wind farm at Scout Moor has been issued for consultation. If you’re interested, you can review the details under planning application 2024/0495. There are 47 documents to explore, so plenty of material for the keen planners among us!
