You have probably received a letter from NJL Consulting in the last few days about “proposals for residential development at H66” which seems to have been sent to all households in Edenfield. It relates to Northstone’s proposals to build 46 houses on the land adjacent to the site that they have recently started to develop on Blackburn Road. The access to this new development will be through the existing site.
This has come out of the blue and we have had no previous notification of the proposals.
Details of the proposals are available online at www.edenfieldconsultation.co.uk and there will be a consultation event at the Community Centre on Monday 10th November from 3.45pm to 7pm. We had been made aware that there was a consultation arranged for this date but were advised that it related to the current development.
The 46 houses proposed would be part of the H66 allocation in the Rossendale Local Plan. Planning applications already approved for H66 are for 50 houses on the current Northstone site and 238 on the Taylor Wimpey site. No application has yet been submitted for the Chatterton Hey site
The consultation runs until 21st November and we encourage residents to consider the proposals and submit their feedback to Northstone. It is expected that Northstone would then submit a formal planning application to the Council although as yet there is no indication as to when this would be.
